Activity 2.1.6 Step By Step Truss System

Today in class we...

Reviewed the process for solving a truss system

1) Free Body Diagram
2) Solve External Forces using the 3 equilibrium equations
3) Update Free Body Diagram
4) Use Method of Joints to solve for internal forces starting with the joint with the least number of unknowns and using the 3 equilibrium equations.
5) Update Free Body Diagram as you go.

Started Activity 2.1.6 Step By Step Truss System...worked in partners to complete as much as possible...(most groups were able to finish the external forces by the end of class)

We will finish 2.1.6 on Monday.
