Installed MDSolids on the PLTW laptops
Completed the activity 2.1.1 Centroids using MDSolids to calculate the centroid of the structural member we made last class
When finished we looked at the animated learning tools in MDSolids. We played Centroids: Ropes, Centroids: Master.
The we introduced Structural Members and their properties specifically moments of inertia, modulus of elastisticity and the calculations for beam deflection
